Cold is the Winter

Solstice day usually sneaks by me, but this December I wanted to pause and reflect. Is it only symbolic? Today marks the turning point. This is the day when farmers start thinking about next year’s crops.

I wanted to take a moment, a day, and look back one more time. Grieve my losses, cry, pray, and maybe light a candle. This year was jarring to my system, to my very core. Also, I wanted to check in with myself, get quiet. Do I need to forgive anyone? How about releasing the chokehold I keep on myself?

Take the shackles off my feet so I can dance! Now, I walk forward. Laugh, dance, hug, watch good movies and be with the people I love.
