It’s Summer. Where’s the vacation?
Summer air should always smell of coconut oil and sound like water splashing in a pool.
Even though school has started, my fingers cling to the edge of summer like gripping the edge of a precipice.
Where do your thoughts go at the end of summer? Mine has been turning to my parent’s station wagon from my childhood. Three of us brats were in the back, shoving for space. We usually visited our grandparents and sometimes went camping in the nearby mountains.
HOW WILL YOUR FAMILY SEE THE WORLD?
Remember to use available resources to help your planning. There are maps available from each state in the USA. With a simple search and request online, most cities and states will send recreation and accommodation information for free. AAA is another go-to if you’re a member. They will map your route for driving, send you literature, and give you gas prices. One unexpected site for me is National Geographic.
So, let’s go on vacation! If you can, take a mental retreat or a weekend trip. Hold onto summer a little longer—splash in the water. And remember the fun of childhood.
