War Cries

The news is a stark tribute to life and death. Like an old newspaper, it’s in black and white, leaving no room for color. And today’s news tells the gore and tale of war. Déjà vu anyone?

War Cry

I cry for children who are utterly alone
The broken ones who cannot go home

With no mothers or fathers for care
The horror of war has left them there

I cry for those whom no arms can hold
My cries are unheard, but may their story be told

I cry

— J West

What can we do? Show kindness in your world—care for the environment, the animals around you, and the people in your space. Give love, and receive love, and when faced with anger, do your best to not retaliate. Yeah, you can be angry, just don’t stew on it.

Find a cause and give five bucks. Or hold open a door for someone. It dispels so much anger when you do something good. Above all, even when we have our worst day, we can be kind humans.
